About the NDCC

The Newburyport Democratic City Committee, part of the state Democratic Party, is comprised of six Ward Committees. Any registered Democrats living in Newburyport are welcome join as members!

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month. We also hold special events, protests, forums and debates. During election season, we organize sign holding hours and other events in support of Democratic candidates. All our meetings and events are open to both members and the public.

Once a year, we hold a caucus to elect delegates to represent

Newburyport at the Massachusetts Democratic Convention.

Being a delegate is a special opportunity to gather with Democrats across the Commonwealth, impact state party policies and primary elections, and hear from candidates and elected leaders.

Support our Work

The NDCC raises funds through member donations and special events. We use those funds in the following ways:

Award an annual $1,000 Scholarship to a civicly-minded Newburyport High School Senior
Support of State and Federal Democratic Candidates and pro-Democracy Organizations. We do not donate to local candidates running in nonpartisan races.
Host Democratic candidates, elected representatives, community advocates and civic leaders at our monthly meetings for informative and fact-based discussions
Organize community events, forums, protests and debates that are open to the public
